I was so excited to spot this Winter Aconite a couple of days ago! I purchased it at the plant sale last year and was not aware of this plant previously. It is an exciting foreshadowing of Spring. Thanks for donating this Kristin!

Curious as to what you might have planted surrounding or nearby to fill in for its ground covering habit when it is in its dormant “summer sleep” state? Beautiful and bright bloom certainly raises the anticipation of what’s to come!!
Hey Leslie: Right now I have this one little clump however I understand it may be a talented spreader… it is in a place where I currently have some gooseneck loosestrife (YIKES) which is also a talented spreader — so it remains to be seen how I shall ultimately incorporate it into the landscape plan. I have also considered pulling all of the gooseneck loosestrife… it is a shady part of the garden so it’s not horrific but it’s still aggressive. I’ll have to show you and get some ideas from you.
Do yo have knowledge of Winter Aconite that you can share here? I know that by the time May comes around it will be dormant.
Good job on the blog, Julie!
